Were you recommended taking something for pain beforehand? When I got my IUD (sorry if TMI), my doctor told me to take some ibuprofen beforehand, as it could be very painful (I only felt a mild pinch after 800mg of ibuprofen). I have a fairly high pain tolerance as well, but less pain is always good.
