Positive story: we just flew on Midwest with a 3 year old, since we needed to go to the Grand Rapids, MI area. I'd never heard of them, it was just a good fare and got us there at about the right time.
Two things stood out that I have never seen done elsewhere:
* After the safety lecture, the flight attendant came over to me personally to point out the child-specific safety items.
* We checked the child stroller in at the gate, as usual. When we deplaned, they had unfolded all of the child strollers, so we didn't have to juggle bags and kid while trying to open the stroller.
