I never thought I'd gather up the courage for this, but I had a surge of madness well up and just went for it. I have been thinking for a long time about better ways to remove all the hair from my
area and the idea of hot wax, frankly, is terrifying. I looked up homemade recipes for body sugaring paste and ended up using
this one: 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup water. I heated it in a saucepan until it was boiling and syrupy and let it cool for a long time (I'm very heat sensitive). Then I went at it!
I have to say, as someone who NEVER in a million years thought she would be saying this,
it didn't hurt as badly as I thought it would. I am sporting a rather funny do because I didn't finish the job, but that isn't because it hurt too badly; I was just using a plastic spoon to apply it and the sugar paste was getting everywhere. I had to go into the shower to rinse off all the stickiness just now, but then the soap in my pores (the ones that bled a little) really stung--a lot worse than ripping off the strips--and so I decided to call it quits for the night.
The funny thing is that it hurt a lot less to do the tender area near my holes than it did to do the top of the mound. I may take it back about it not hurting so bad tomorrow when I return to that area, but I have to say that all in all it wasn't very unpleasant. After this, I don't see any point in EVER trying wax. I'll report back once I've had 100% success.
