10. Goldeneye - This game was a blast to play on the N64, and it was the first game to get me addicted to multiplayer games. I spent countless hours finding ways of killing the bad guys, finding cheats, and, of course, license to kill with four people
9. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The first 3D zelda game, Ocarina surpassed my expectations. The graphics were (for the time) beautiful, the characters unique, and the ocarina system was brilliant.
8. Call of Duty - Very rarely does a game succeed in making me panic, scream in terror, and hide behind my chair. And it wasn't even a horror game! The gritty and frantic WWII battles in the single player are some of the best set pieces in a game.
7. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn - This was my first introduction to Dungeons and Dragons, and the plot was amazing. The hand-drawn backgrounds are still beautiful compared to today's standards.
6. Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II - This game was the first game I ever played, so it has a special place in my heart. It got me addicted to computer games, and I am still trying to break that addiction today.
5. Final Fantasy VII - The plot and graphics blew me away, and had some of the most memorable characters in ANY medium. Cloud, Sephiroth, and Aeris are three of the most widely known video game characters of all time.
4. Rainbow Six - This game was extremely innovative, and many games attempt to "copy" it's ideas, but rarely surpass them. The multiplayer was genius.
3. Halo 2 - Now, I know that it isn't one of the best games ever made, but some of my most memorable gameplaying experiences have happened while playing this game, all at a friends house, while drunk, high, or both. Halo 2 LAN parties are legendary.
2. Half-life series - Technically, these are two games, but both of them tie as my second place for several reasons. The first Half-Life blew everyone away, making it the primary game that FPS's look on to make their games. The mod community bolstered this series, with games like Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. Half-Life 2 builds on the first one, making it better and starting new mods, while improving old ones.
1. Diablo II - I don't play this game anymore, because of my severe addiction ot it. Once I start playing this game, I will go for YEARS without going outside. Really. It is that bad. I wasted my middle school years because of this game, and half of my high school years. Because of this damn, awsome game, I am skinny as hell, pale, and have just now started to learn social skills. I haven't played this game in two years, and that is probably a good thing. I dream about this game. When I read anything about it, I start reminesing about the "good ol days". I can't remember most of my middle school years because I spent them playing this game every day until I went to sleep. I miss this game. I often wonder if my old friends online still play this game, and with which characters. I had more friends on this game than I ever did in real life.
