The little death is on a par with the Fall; existentially we sense that we have just given up our chance to leave the world and deny its essence - the will - in us, and have just perforned the act that may cast an infinite chain of suffering beings into the future, made of the same stuff, with the same weaknesses, because of a selfish (sinful) impulse. We realize that sex is like a simple but beguiling riddle: when you don't know what it is it's something, when you know what it is its nothing. And we have just damned the world over that infinite nothing. Cry? You should be ashamed of yourself...
