| 10. Super Mario 3 - As someone who was in the prime of his childhood when it was released, how could I not put it here...I mean, from the ad campaign to it's appearance in "the Wizard," to the game itself...well I don't need to sa anymore.
 9. Super Mario Kart - Many hours of bonding (and fighting) with my brother in the split screen mode. Still has a rarely matched sense of momentum.

 8. Dark Forces II: Jedi-Knight - Huge levels which really used height well. Possibly the most elegant light-sabre combat system and my personal introduction to internet multi-play.

 7. System Shock 2 - Atmosphere! I crapped my pants a few times when I first played this. One of the few games I've replayed all the way through on numerous occasions.

 6. Half-Life 2 - Physics, gravity-gun, vicious crossbow, final level was the biggest cock-tease in gaming history. Most of you have played this and know what I'm talking about.

 5. Grim Fandango - The best story ever in any game. Truly a work of art.

 4. Ultima 7 - Hmmm...well apart from the awesome villain randomly shouting at you from your subconcious (and when this was out, speech in games was a pretty big deal, so, again I shit my pants a lot), the game was a great example of creating a believable world. People had their daily schedules, most objects were interactive (you could bake bread and forge swords), and who could forget the bank robberies!!!

 3. Ultima Underworld 2 - One of the finest role-playing games ever, and it was fully a part of the Ultima universe. An earlier triumph of 3D role-playing!! All the details were super-cool, like the eating and the weapon decay..somehow didn't get annoying. And the runic magic system!? Damn that was cool.

 2. X-Wing - I've spent more time playing this game than any other game ever. Probably the first good Star-Wars game. The near-fulfillment of the dream of being in Star Wars.

1.Baldur's Gate II - The best role-playing game ever. I played this one summer, then I finished it again the next summer, then I finished it again the next summer. The magic system actually introduced a very complex level of strategy. A role-playing game where changing your tactics could actually matter more than your stats.
