1. Doom (PC) -- nothing else really compared to the game that set me off on the FPS path
2. Quake (PC) -- I spent immeasurable time after-hours at work playing this when it first came out
3. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (Gamecube) -- I loved MGS, and with the updated graphics/etc., TS has become one of my all-time favorites.
4. Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) -- The story in MGS3 was great, I really enjoyed the ending regarding The Boss, and the whole game was just a lot of fun to play.
5. Timesplitters: Future Perfect (PS2) -- I may be a little biased on this one, as one of my best friends helped create it, but I've gone through the entire game on coop and single player and done almost all of the challenges, and it never gets old.
6. Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) -- I was trying to decide whether to put down 3 or 4, and I think that the vast selection of cars as well as the graphics make me pick 4 over 3
7. Mercenaries (PS2) -- Action/Adventure in a fairly non-linear fashion (you can travel over most of war-torn Korea doing pretty much as you please, and your actions actually make a difference in the game (you have to pay bribes to get missions if you piss people off, etc.).
8. Soul Calibur II (PS2) - Classic fighting game, I've spent way too many hours drinking beers and battling "just one more to see who's the best!" with friends.
9. Ninja Gaiden Black (XBox) -- I only recently got an XBox (within the past month) and this is one of the two games I own for it, but I just can't stop playing. It's brutally hard, but I don't mind because I'm having so much fun.
10. Forza Motorsports (XBox) -- My other XBox game. I love racing games, and though the selection of cars isn't as large in Forza as it is in GT4, I'm thoroughly enjoying playing both games - they each have their merits.
Whew - that wasn't easy coming up with 10 games that I really thought were my favorites. There are tons of PC games that I loved playing (Doom 3, Grand Theft Auto, Half-Life, etc.), but I tried to go - on each platform I own - for the games that really sucked me in and ate up my life for weeks on end. I think I've got a pretty good spread of games out there.
