I'm not a social worker, but I'm a support worker for a charity that helps people with learning disabilities. Often physical disabilities accompany this.
We do a small amount of medical stuff (administering medication, first aid training, etc) but it's mainly about helping people make their own choices. A few people I work with have epilepsy, some have a few seizures a week, one has not had a seizure in a decade due to reliable medication.
I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything.
