Not sure of the validity of the above message, but the following DID happen to me...

A few months ago we decided to buy a Swiffer Wet Jet. After cleaning our hardwood floors once, one of our 2 cats started acting strange. It was like he was afraid to walk on the floor, kind of like a child playing "the floor is lava." He would just crouch down, like he was about to jump to the floor, but would stop a few inches from the floor and look up and cry at us. He wouldn't even get off the couch to eat, and he is a big, fat cat. He would only dart across it when he had to use the litter box.

After asking around and doing some research, we discovered the only thing different was the purchase of the Swiffer Wet Jet. There were several accounts of this product killing small pets. Of course the Swiffer website says that their product is safe, there was overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The biggest evidence being our cat's behavior.

We immediately re-cleaned the floors with regular cleaners and eventually Fred decided it was safe to come down.
