Are you in art school / been formally educated? Your skill seems far above a mere hobbyist like myself. Any good tutorials to suggest?

The chin of the girl is the most impressive to me.. you've managed to suggest a 3D diffrentiation there without a hard line or anything. I know that the chin ends and the neck starts, but my brain has a hard time knowing HOW it knows.

Likewise, did you do all those background stars by hand in the second picture?
