I not sure anyone said or even implied that things weren't that bad. You said some people did, but your angry and disappointed by the false hyperbole that you have fed into.
It's also quite clear that everything ~was~ exagerated by the press. You call it right winged bullshit. Most of us seem to see it as reality.
I hope if nothing else we all learn that government IS NOT, never has been and never will be the arbitor of your safety ot survival. Step up to the plate and take responsibility for your self, your loved ones and your nieghbors. Especially in the face of overwhelming obstacles.
