He's lucky the police didn't just shoot him eight times in the head. Perhaps his skin wasn't dark enough. In america, such a person could probably easily be detained and tortured under the pretenses of being an unlawful combatant. It seems to me if a completely innocent person can be detained like this just for looking suspicious, perhaps the terrorists have already won.
