Well, some of the interactions above are caused by the fact that these drugs interfere with the absorption of the hormone into the small intestine. Because the ring and the patch don't get absorbed through the digestive tract, some of the interactions don't exist. However, many DO because they interfere with the absorption of the hormone into the bloodstream.
I should note that Tagamet HB and its active ingredient have been found to interfere with the absorption of hormone in the small intestine. So be careful, and take Pepcid!
