Good philosophy. I once had a mother yell at me because I came within about 30 yards of her kid on a bike.

It was morning, and there was a lot of glare, so I didn't see them until the last minute. It didn't help that she and her kid were both riding the wrong way, down the sidewalk. Both are illegal here.

I was too startled by her kid appearing out of nowhere to call her a moron.
