I wasn't aware that the mods were required to squeal with delight over every idea the users came up with. Seems to me that they're entitled to their opinions just as we regular users are entitled to ours. If they think your idea is lousy, they should be able to say so without having to endure whining about how they're "shitting on" your idea.

And frankly your idea is a lousy one. As others have pointed out, all it could possibly do is degenerate into a popularity contest. No one would vote objectively - it'd all be "well I really like userX so I'll vote for him." What's the point in that?

Plus, message forums all over the internet are plagued with people spewing out post after bullshit post full of crap in order to attain some status, be it user rank, an avatar, or what have you. Somehow, and I still don't know how they pulled this off, the TFP administration has managed to keep that to a low roar despite the availability of avatars. Why tempt fate by adding one more element into the mix that would encourage posters to post for a reward rather than to further discussion?
