I think we are more hostile in our criticism of jay walkers in this country (UK).
I won't post exactly what I'd expect a driver to say to me if I was the parent of that kid but something like this: *&^%&!!!!! £$***&^ ******** ! *****'

Some people are dumb asses.
maybe he was too embarassed to acknowledge you?
