Possible AIM scam
Ok, today my ex-girlfriend tried to get me to accept a file she had gotten from her roommate, who had gotten it from a friend, who had gotten it from a friend, and so on and so forth.
Basically she said that on Oct. 9 AIM was going to start charging for it's services and that this file would prevent me from losing my account and having to pay for a new one. I checked the AIM site and they have nothing posted about any such change. This stank of some type of scam to me. Either a virus or some program to allow a hacker easy access to your computer.
So I was going to check with you good folks here on the TFP to see if any of you have heard of it, to see if it is what she says it is, or if she's likely to find herself a few thousand in debt.
