Aching, my heart sighs alone
and spills unbidden tears
that shall be memories some day.
Should I smile with bittersweet tears
in my eyes when I am alone,
or cry with another I do not love.
Scattering petals to the wind,
I close my eyes and know
my hope is lost,
my faith has been broken,
my trust is no more.
Reaching out I grasp,
fingers fleetingly touching yet
not holding onto what I need.
