This also struck a chord in me. I went through an unrequited love thing with an amazing woman. The best thing about it in retrospect was that the attention I heaped upon her helped her see the good in herself, and I sincerely believeshe probably could not have been ready for the man she married had I not come into her life then. We remain fast friends, and she and my wife get along swimmingly.
This was not a boast post, but just to show that even though she didnt share your feelings, you probably did some good, heal a few scars, or at least were a beacon of light in a cold dark world.
Try not to let this ruin the beauty in your heart, and in your words.
