I'm one of those people that thinks most of what the mars volta does is completely contrived, but I still enjoy their music. However, I don't enjoy fraces the mute whatsoever. Hardly any of it sounds good to me or makes me feel anything, and no matter how complex the music is or how well played it is, that is what matters. The best part of the album for me is the first 30 seconds.
