Thanks for sharing your info Shanifaye.
I have felt irritated that people could be so greedy. Hubby does have to drive about 30mi one way to work and back each day. I do not drive anywhere for work or even much during the week for groceries. So long as it isn't pouring rain or freezing cold I use my bicycle and bike trailer to take the kids places and even go to the grocery store. I am lucky to live in a smaller town where a leisurely bike across town from one end to the other only takes me about 45 min. We are using as little gas as possible.
What irritates me is that the gas stations are somewhat milking the 'threat' to our gas supply by hiking the price much more than is reasonable. I can understand some changes in price but from $2.72 to $3.23 in one night is outright greedy.
As for being concerned about those who've been hit by the storm - Complaining that we're more concerned about the money we spend on gas is not hurting them any. If the hike in gas price was to fund relief efforts I would be much more willing to spend the added dollars. For greed - I will do my upmost to avoid giving you any more money than my personal needs dictate.
