It's actually not nearly as addicting as other MMORPGs, but it is way funner. The only reason the game isn't as addicting as other games is because it's way easier than other MMORPGs. A lower difficulty means you don't have to play as much to level up, hence the lowered addiction factor.

I played WoW a lot, but only because there wasn't much else to do. I played EQ even if there was other stuff to do, nonstop, all the time. I woke up early in the morning to play EQ and stayed up late playing. That hasn't happened with WoW even though I have a 60 warrior and a 51 priest. I cancelled because the end-game is solely about extreme luck in instance running. I don't mind instances, but I hate when the item you want has a 1% chance of dropping, and even if it does, there are others that want it as well. There should be some type of system in the game that lets you put in time and gets you a promised reward instead of a reward based on pure luck.
I'd play for the PVP alone (I LOVE the combat system in WoW) but the PVP system is fucked up due to Battlegrounds right now.

It's impossible to gain ranks on my server.
