Sin City
Usually I like sexy action movies, anti-heroes, film noir, and comics on the big screen. I hated Sin City. It lingered hungrily over the torture of innocents. Almost as bad: good people did cruel things that destroyed themselves and those they loved out of stupidity. It wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen, but I wouldn't watch it again (in spite of the briefly seen, magnificently hot chicks).

Shaun of the Dead
It would be hard to make a better dark comedy. If you want to laugh at a zombie movie, this one will have you rolling on the floor. This is doubly true if you appreciate British humor or making fun of the British, both of which are present. It was romantic, full of action, and had great characters. It made me laugh and rejoice at human nature, by turns. I highly recommend it.
