I like manuals because it keeps you focused on driving. When I'm driving an auto, sometimes I tend to not focus as much on the road and look around at everything else.
In today's cars, the manuals are so easy to drive. Clutch and shifting are a breeze to operate. Unlike the older cars which had a harder clutch and longer shift throws. I learned on an older bmw 5 series and every other car that I have driven has been relatively easy. Just takes a bit to get use to the setup.
