I've been to plenty of raves and seen fights.. it depends on what crowd you're in. The b-boys and dnb/jungle heads aren't usually too kind to posuers/kandy kids (can't stand em). At a big rave however, it does seem to be an isolated thing that is very quick and not much done damage wise.
As far as the list of why it's illegal according to the sherriff dept. fuck that. They don't seem to be so worried about those goddamn hippie shows or rock shows where there are more drugs around (my experience) than at raves. Everyone automatically associate drugs with the rave scene..and it's pretty sad.
