Long story short: A few people throw eggs, beer bottles, and various other shit at Maiden. They get their PA systems cut six times. Some fucker starts chanting "Ozzy" on the PA system over Maiden. All through this, Maiden keeps their composure and just gets better and more intense. The audience drowns out the "Ozzy" guy with "Maiden" chants. Sharon comes out to "apologize" and insult Bruce and gets pelted with beer.
To do that to any band is unprofessional, at best. But this isn't just any band; this is MAIDEN. I was tempted to go to Ozzfest just for Maiden (and Mastodon). Now I'm glad I didn't hand my hard earned money over to that bitch Sharon. Good job Maiden, you proved to the world Saturday why you're the best metal band, past, present, and (most likely) future. Now that I think about it, however, I am kinda sad I didn't get to see that. To watch Maiden play with such intensity would have been an experience of a lifetime. I really hope they tour the US again (maybe Gigantour?) since they're "the band" that I want to see live before I die.
edit: Apparently security was very tight at Ozzfest so there's no way any random idiot could have sneaked in eggs unless they were permitted.
