I had something similar happen in a car of mine in the past. It ended up being the screen filters attached to the in-tank fuel pump, talk about a pain to change!! For him I'd start with the fuel filter though, since it's the easiest/cheapest place to start. IIRC, it should only be about $12 or so at Autozone for the new filter on that.
I actually own the service manual for that car, so if there are any specific questions go ahead and post them in here and I'll try to help as much as I can.
