Has anyone ever come across Guyanese peppers outside of that country? I've been searching everywhere to try and find some of these little buggers. They're small and roundish, usually the size of a blueberry. Dark red in color when ripe. As far as I know, there's no name for these little guys. The Guyanese native that gave me some a year ago just called them "Guyanese peppers". They're very similar to a Scotch Bonnet pepper and might be a Wirri-Wirri pepper, but I can't find a photo. Apparently, they're also very difficult to grow.
These things blow every pepper I've
ever tried out of the water. A quarter of the pepper will light your heinie on fire, but the flavor is so smooth in recipes. They make my Chicken Enchilada soup out-of-this-world. Plus, I've got a bet riding on whether or not I can find them.
Thanks!
