Of those two, I prefer SOME GIRLS by a slight margin, but that's probably because I was in college when it came out and heard it fresh; it wasn't until many years later that I heard BEGGARS BANQUET, and I wasn't as impressed with it beyond the singles on it.
If you are just starting with the Stones, you've received some good advice above about getting a greatest hits collection first. Yes, there'll be some duplication later if you decide to get deeper into the catalog, but frankly, the Stones were always a better singles band than album group. I know about how great albums of the Mick Taylor era were (LET IT BLEED, STICKY FINGERS and EXILE ON MAIN STREET, especially), but the majority of the best tracks from these are available on 40 LICKS.
If someone has NOTHING and wants an album proper, start with STICKY FINGERS.
