Gagne and
Eckstein? Well, if 2 names need to come up why not?
Although the quote from your Baltimore writer is very interesting.
A shoo-in for the HOF and a possible, that will bring baseball to its knees... does make one think what the names could be and what the reaction would truly be.
(Comic relief only)
What if it's Clemens AND Piazza? Do they blame each other?
I'm sitting here thinking who are shoo-ins, whicj players are definate locks?
Johnson
Schilling
Clemens
JR
A-Rod
Sosa
Glavine
Maddux
Bonds
Pujols
Martinez
Then who are the possibles:
Thome
Vizquel
Sheffield
Bagwell
Biggio
Smoltz
Brown
Pudge
Big Hurt
Guerrero
Piazza
Then look to see who if named would bring baseball to it's knees..... this means a beloved player who has a pretty clean image......
From the shoo-in list, for me, it narrows it down to:
Glavine
Maddux
A-Rod (borderline)
Pujols
from the almost:
Guerrero
Since Glavine and Maddux are declining and have been ..... I doubt it
If it's A-Rod then they just say he was greedy
If it's Pujols......... That would hurt baseball moreso than any name up ther. He's the next great superstar.
So my thinking and narrowing the list down and based on the writer's quote, I have come up with:
Pujols and Guerrero.
And if those 2 popped it would destroy any of baseball's credibility.
