I really like your take Yakk but think this
Spoiler: And yes, Harry must die for Voldemort to die. Harry has a piece of Voldemort's soul in him. This is why there won't be a book after book 7, this is why Voldemort's death spells don't work on Harry, and why emotions and thoughts leak between them.
while logical goes too far for this series.
Spoiler: I don't think it is reasonable to expect that Harry would die at the end of book 7.
