PS.... from reading the posts on the links it also sounds to me like some O fans wishful thinking, but we shall see.
I seriously doubt "a very very famous baseball writer" is going to tell anybody info like that, because if it came out he told someone then his name would be shit and noone in the business would trust him. And obviously the people that were "told in confidence" are spreading it fast. Also if it were false and his name came out as having spread rumors that a player popped.... you could be looking at slander and/or libel.
Too much for any true reporter in the know to lose not enough to gain by telling anyone who the next to pop would be.
