I have to agree. The Wabumun Lake derailment disaster (it could only be called this) may effect the ground water in that region FOREVER with carcinogenic coal oil contaminants. It is tragic that such little care is taken when shipping such toxic substances so close to sensitive areas like lakes and rivers, or anywhere for that matter.
We should all be very suspicious of this company, but we should also take a very close look at just how the government deals with this situation. In reality, CN should have it's ability to use any track in this country revoked and hundreds of millions of dollars should be sucked out of that company to deal with all the wreckage they've caused over the last 5 years (Oh yes, this is not the first!).
My gawd, when will we take the transport of hazardous materials seriously in this country. So sad to have such a spineless group of pro-businees do-nothings in office. Martin, as an owner of a large shipping interest, obviously has more sympathy for the transport sector than he does for the people who must now live in and beside this tragically contanimated region.
Bad, bad, bad.
