I stay away from games whose plot lines resemble:
Get the map
to find the key
to open the chest
to find the lantern
that lights the cave
so you can see the lever
which you have to pull
to open the trap door
to find the wizard
who will tell you where to find the map

And there I am, looking for a fucking lever in a cave for 5 hours straight.
If I need a cheat/hint book to complete the game, I turn it off and use it as a beer coaster.
