I fully feel G-d provides and G-d takes away. An old expression my grandmother says "it is better this then a doctor bill." Which basically means it is better G-d takes the money away via something like this then making you sick...
Everyone has a shitty day, there are a ton of girls out there (as one who has broken up before, i know how you never want to hear it at that point but you have to pick yourself up, dand move on).
