I went and saw it the other day. All around, a fairlly solid film.
There were some pacing issues in the middle, right around where Veruca Salt and Mike Teevee disappear, (Amusingly, the original film had pacing issues in the exact same spot as well.)
But other than that rather sluggish spot, definitely a good film. Not better or worse than the original, just...Different.
