I talked to the Dr yesterday about it. She recommended the non-incision method and told me who she'd refer me to if I wanted to go ahead with it.

My reservation is that I had been taking the pill to help with my migranes. On the 4th I went to my placebos for the first time in 9 weeks - I'm on a 10 week cycle. I did not have a migrane when I went off. I normally did. The thing that is different is that I have been taking Iodine. My thyroid is weak and the Dr agrees that the Iodine is important for me. The reason I'm wanting to get off the hormones is that excess estrogen in the system can be detrimental for the thyroid. In my case I want to do all that I can to preserve my thyroid. Every woman in my family, back three generations, on both sides (4 on the maternal side) have had thyroid problems and most had to take thyroid hormones.

These are the reasons I'm wanting to get off the pill. I talked to my Dr yesterday and she pretty much left it up to me. She suggested that I go off for a few months before I made the final decision because if my migranes get worse or I get severe cramping then I would perhaps want to go back on my pill. She would give me the go ahead if I chose to get it done anyway.

As for us both doing it. I would much prefer that. My need is greater than hubbies as MOST of the women he ends up playing with are menopausal, or have been fixed themselves. The rest of the women are either on the pill or use condoms. In my position, I'm allergic to latex, and the other kinds of condoms can get expensive.
