Well, the ladies come home from vacation later tonight. We'll have the "discussion" sometime in the next few days. The point about a 'C' means she passed was quite valid. In fact, that's where I was coming from at the beginning. I would like to let her go on if she can somehow show us that she has the basic understanding. My wife wants to talk with the teacher.
