I love my flip flops. I'd wear them at work if I could. (I really really can't.) However, I might have chosen something different for the White House (that is, if I cared what Bush thinks). But who knows what I would have thought in college? NOW I wouldn't do it, but back then? It's a good possibility. Your perspective on what's acceptable dress changes pretty radically as you get older a lot of the time.
