I love my flipflops. I have many pairs of flipflops. I am wearing flipflops right now in fact. However, I don't think I'd wear them to the White House, not necessarily because I'd be worried what the President or the fashion mavens thought (I couldn't care less what the President or fashionistas think of me), but because I would be worried about what *I* thought of myself; I wouldn't feel good presenting myself in that way. I just don't think this is a flipflop appropriate occasion.
