I think people (very much like myself) find things they like and hold them very close. So, when you say that a film that I happen to love has no plot or is garbage, I get insulted. It's like me saying derogatory things about your girlfriend. Yea it might be pathetic that people get attached to films, but it is our likes and dislikes that define our personality. I appreciate that you didn't like the film, that's fine, but if you set out to push buttons, buttons are gonna get pushed. You obviously understand something of this attachment or you wouldn't have posted it to get us "nerdie nerds" to "[take] it all seriously and [get] their panties in a bunch over it."
I guess you could just try the age old, If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Yup... I'm the worlds largest dork... I'll be the first to admit it, and I get excited over things like the matrix. I'm just glad I got to be so entertained and blown away after I walked out of the theatre. I'm sorry you missed out on what I thought was one of the best movie experiences I've ever had. Too bad. I think... in the long run. I win here.
