Agreed. Guinness is
somewhat unique mass produced commercial crap, (by virtue of being harsh to many bud-drinkers) but it remains essentially strained fecal swill.
A few years back we had an exchange student from the Netherlands stay with us. After one of his visits back home he presented us with two big (1L?) bottles of Heineken, purchased across the pond. Absolutely, completely, positively a different drink than we have available in the States. Akin to the difference between your favorite micro, fresh on tap vs. bottled. I haven't touched a domestic Heineken since.

Want a real beer? Try a Riverhorse Special, a Stone IPA, a Fat Tire, a Grant's Perfect Porter, or any of 27000 other brews from smaller breweries that are more interested in making beer that tastes good, not convincing you that their beer will make you strong or sexy.

Yep. If you get the chance, try visiting a homebrew festival. The best brews I've ever consumed were made on homemade rigs in someone's garage or basement.
Good watercooler humor though.
