Charlie, there are many wonderful galleries and museums to check out if you have the time.
Here are a couple of the best:
1) Probably one of the finest photographic galleries AND museums in the world, The George Eastman House.

2) Center at High Falls. There's a great gallery here that features Rochester's finest artists. Plus a great view of a nice waterfall.
