My doctor never really explained bc to me. He kinda just gave it to me because he thought I was at high risk of getting pregnant. I'm not really sure why...
I've had no side effects other then breast tenderness 1 week before my period.
I've tried 2 different brands, my doctor said about 80% of women do just fine with a low dose and the other 20% require different means. Different brands bring different side effects too. I know a girl who tried several, she gained weight, lost weight, turned into a pms-psychopath all from switching her pills around. Once I found one that worked I stuck with it.
