Well we started in our hometown bar
Just the 5 of us and a dream to go far
Developed a fan base
Loyal as Hell back in those days.
Well, the label loved us
So we signed in trust
Hit the road with Petty and Crue
To our fans we tried to be true
The company tried to put us down
Spreading their money all around
Drugs, money, women and fame
They brought us down into shame
We started fighting, yes it's true
But our love never died for you
Crappy records, sloppy play
We didn't care we were just happy to get our pay
Mellencamp, the Kinks and Cooper
Those were the groups who were super
They stayed true and didn't sell out
They did what they wanted and they made their fans shout
So quietly now as we leave the stage
We're going away and turning the page
The band is done we're over and out
Noone needs to cry or pout
We thank you all for buying our songs
We hope you forgive us someday for our wrongs
This is the end of the line
We're out of time

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
