Personal chef's really aren't that expensive... in many instances, tehy will come to your home one day a week, and do all the shopping and cooking for you and either freeze it or leave it in the fridge for you to reheat... It's a pretty reasonable service.
I love to cook, but detest cooking for just me... If I have to dirty more than one pan or pot I won't bother, that's where I get frustrataed...
I guess to find your passion for cooking, is find something you love to do... and do it for yourself... I personally love to bake bread... plain old white bread, Sourdough, focaccia... you name it -- if it's got yeast, I love to play with it... It's my therapy of a sort because it's mindless and well the smell is outstanding.
There are a bunch of cookbooks that are five ingredients or less - maybe that's a place to start - -I know there's nothing more frustrrating to read thru a cookbook and want ot make something only to find that you are missing a bunch of ingredients...
