Well, CSC led Discovery at almost every checkpoint, and was ahead by several seconds at the last checkpoint, 3km from the finish. It appears likely that they would have won had Zabriskie not crashed. In any case, Discovery only won by two seconds, hardly a scorcher of a win. One must not forget that CSC is one of the strongest teams in the peloton, second only to Discovery.
But yeah, Discovery is one of the most professional (and best) teams there is. They were definitely the favorites to win the TTT, as they have for three years now. Discovery doesn't race the Tour de France; they lay siege to it.
