Like I said, I think there's more to it than just a Rachel Stevens talking. I think it does get the message across, if in a funny/sexy manner.
Is it more effective than the pamphlet from the doctor? Again, I say yes. Pamphlets, lectures and the like are clinical, quickly told, and even more quickly forgotten. This gives you something to think about, something to remember that's more than some half-assed piece of paper, and a visual that most would rather prefer to hold on to.
