If I'm understanding you correctly, you're stating that coming out of the wall there's a black and a white which go to the light portion of the existing fixture, and another black and white which go to the receptacle?
If so, after removing the existing fixture, install orange wire nuts on the black and white conductors which presently feed the receptacle, fold them back and complete the installation of your new fixture.
