Well if it isn't too late, you should be thinking cupcakes.
For a girl, I once got a pack of those hostess chocolote cupcakes, it comes with two in a pack. and two candles. Quick and easy to throw up anywhere.
It is still sweet, shows your thought, doesn't hurt your wallet, and doesn't come off as crazy.
